EMG shares broad expertise from image creation to distribution at IBC2022
– Presence on three stands and several conference sessions will offer unique insights into studio-based and remote/mobile production challenges and solutions
Paris, 7 September 2022 – EMG, a leading provider of broadcasting and audiovisual services, will use its presence at IBC2022 to share the unique world-renowned expertise that has helped it master the entire value chain from image creation to distribution. EMG’s leadership team and knowledgeable staff can be found on three stands at the show as well as presenting in several summit sessions. IBC2022 is held at the RAI, Amsterdam from 9-12 September 2022.
On Stand 1.D61, EMG created a meeting place where the team will present its full portfolio of solutions. Remote production, cloud and IP technology sit at the heart of EMG’s strategy, enabling EMG to offer customers unrivalled services to enhance and manage high value-added content and provide viewers with an even more exciting experience.
Outside on Stand 0.A09 EMG’s design division Projectbuilders shows the new NOVA105 OB truck. With 89m2 of working space, this is the biggest mobile facility in the EMG group, offering workspace for 40 people. EMG developed an insulated rack area that allows entire I/P 19″ frames to be inserted or removed. This allows for quick changes when the ‘diPloy’ set needs to be sent out as a fly-pack. At IBC, the NOVA105 will be shown as ‘rack ready’ with minimal equipment in place.
EMG’s Origins Digital brand will be on Stand 5.F52 showcasing its innovative digital services tailored for broadcasters and sports organisations, from club apps and websites to OTT platforms and enriched video players.
Additionally, EMG’s Lucy O’Brien, Chief Technology Officer, and Bevan Gibson, Chief Operating Officer, will be speaking at the following events:
Thursday 8 September, Devoncroft Executive Summit, Tuschinski Theater
3:00pm: Building the Facility of the Future: Commercial Drivers & Best Practice

4:00pm: Sustainability in news and sport operations
Through being forced to implement remote capabilities in 2020, broadcasters have found new ways of bringing live content to viewers through powerful virtual production suites, creating efficiencies in workflows and a smaller on-the-ground footprint. The speakers on this panel have delivered some of the largest sporting events in the last two years, trialling new techniques in operational delivery. This session will show how these new methods of live production are changing the way control rooms exist in the content supply chain.
Lucy O’Brien, CTO
Sunday 11 September, IBC Conference – Hall 12, Showcase Theatre (free to attend)
2:30pm – Balanced computing: choosing the right balance between on-prem, edge and cloud deployments
‘Balanced Computing’ is about choosing the right combinations of hardware and software and deploying them in a balanced way between on-prem, edge and public or private cloud. The panel will explain how this approach is ideally suited for large event productions where rights-owners are required to create high-quality content in the most reliable way and distribute it quickly and efficiently to their rights-holders. The panel will also showcase real-world use cases where cloud processing is used to enrich live production, to replace traditional, on-premises processing, and to manage and distribute the produced content for more efficient and collaborative operations.
